How It Works

A clear, step-by-step process from your first conversation to your child's first session. No surprises, no guesswork.

Getting Started Is Simple

Whether grades have slipped, homework has become a daily battle, or a big test is coming up — the process always starts the same way: a conversation. Below is exactly what happens, from your first call through to your child's first session and beyond.

The Process

  1. 1

    You Reach Out

Call us at 416-619-0043, send us an email, or book a free 15-minute call through our Calendly link. There's no commitment required from this first contact and no forms to fill out before we speak.

This first conversation is about understanding your child's situation — what grade they're in, what subjects are causing difficulty, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping to change. We ask some questions and you can ask us anything.

We'll give you a clear picture of what we can do and what to expect before any sessions begin.
  2. 2

    In-Person Assessment

Before any sessions begin, your child comes in for an in-person assessment at our Brampton location. Parents come in for this visit. This isn't just a diagnostic for the student — it's also a chance to sit down with us, ask any questions, and get a clear picture of how the program works.

During the assessment we identify your child's current level in the relevant subjects, find where the gaps are, and get a sense of how they approach problems. We walk parents through what we're seeing and what we'd recommend. We also go through our policies and what families can expect from the program going forward.

The assessment typically takes about an hour. It's held at 14 Automatic Rd, Unit 32, Brampton.
  3. 3

    We Build a Plan

Based on the assessment, we put together a personalized learning plan for your child. This covers which subjects we're focusing on, the specific goals, the topics we'll address first, and how often sessions should run given the level of support needed.

We walk parents through the plan before sessions begin so everyone is aligned. If anything needs adjusting based on your schedule or priorities, we work that out now.

  4. 4

    Sessions Begin

Your child starts attending sessions at the centre. Sessions are in-person, typically one hour, and run in a focused environment. Each student receives personalized attention on their own material during the session.

Expect the plan to be actively refined over the first several sessions. The assessment gives us the initial picture, but it's the early sessions that tell us the most about how your child absorbs and processes new material. We use that to sharpen the approach.

Students are not expected to keep pace with others in the room. The focus stays on your child's material and goals.
  5. 5

    Progress Is Tracked and Communicated

We track your child's progress and keep parents in the loop. If something is working well, you'll hear about it. If we need to adjust the focus or approach, we'll bring that to you before it becomes a bigger problem.

If your child has an IEP, we coordinate with what the school has in place and can provide specific observations that are useful heading into review meetings.

Many families prefer check-ins every few weeks. Others want more frequent updates. We work around what's useful for you.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

Sessions are held in person at 14 Automatic Rd, Unit 32, Brampton. This is a dedicated learning space with parking available on site.

Session frequency depends on the student's situation and goals. After the assessment, we'll give a clear recommendation based on where your child is. The schedule is built around what works for your family.
